Second Half Surge Pushes Men’s Basketball Past Concordia In MIAC Opener

An 18-1 run midway through the second half provided more than enough of an advantage for the Gustavus men’s basketball team Wednesday night in its home and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener against Concordia as the Gusties cruised to a 92-75 victory at Gus Young Court. The victory is the first for the Gusties early in the season as they improve to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while the Cobbers fall to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Efficient Offensive Attack Leads Women’s Hoops To MIAC Opening Win

Ackiss, Becker Named To NSCAA All-North Team

Gustavus women's soccer team members Maddison Ackiss (Sr., Fairbanks, Alaska) and Ashley Becker (So., Farmington, Minn.) have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-North Team, released Tuesday.

MCS Teams Compete in MAA Contest

Earlier this month the MCS Department had two teams of students compete in the team mathematics contest organized by the Mathematical Association of America's North Central Section. We had a great result: Our younger team (including two first-year students!) solved two problems plus substantial progress on a third, placing them ahead of 14 other teams from the region. The more experienced team tied for 11th place out of 59 teams competing.

Men’s Basketball Hosts Home Opener Tonight Against Concordia

The Gustavus men’s basketball team hosts its home and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at 7:45 p.m. tonight against Concordia College. The Gusties enter the contest with a 0-2 overall record, while the Cobbers are 2-2 overall. Gustavus most recently lost 90-78 at Simpson College on Saturday, while Concordia defeated St. Scholastica 80-64 Saturday.

Third Period Surge Carries Women’s Hockey To 3-2 Win Over Blugolds

The Gustavus women's hockey team scored twice in the third period, coming back from 2-1 deficit to earn a 3-2 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Tuesday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
